Run Like a Woman Interactive Quarterly Challenges


Step 1: Join the Private Facebook Group

Join the private Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/RunLikeAWoman/
You will need your order number and the password found in your emailed receipt to gain entry to the group.  Blank requests will be deleted. 
PLEASE ALLOW 24-48 HOURS FOR GROUP ADMINS TO ADD YOU IN TO THE GROUP.  Once you are in, please read through the group rules, all announcements, and (optional) create a post to introduce yourself. 
Step 2: Log Your Miles
Begin logging your miles on Day 1 of the challenge. THE LOG WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL THE EVENT BEGINS! Please do not count any miles completed before the start date. You may count any INTENTIONAL miles for this challenge, whether it is walking, running, biking, swimming, etc. But ALL miles should be extra miles outside of your normal daily routine.  In order to make this a challenge and encourage physical activity, the steps you walk for work, shopping, etc, are not "extra" miles and should not be counted. 
You will need an app or fitness device to keep track of your distance. We recommend the Runkeeper app, but any walking or running app will work.  You can also use the distance from treadmills, ellipticals, etc. Some participants use online conversion charts to convert "other activities" (such as yoga) to miles. While we do not have any rules against this practice, we recommend counting only actual miles completed by running, walking, cycling, swimming, or rowing.  
You will have the option to manually log your miles on our  website.  Our log does not sync with apps or other fitness devices. See directions below for log use.
USE OF THE RESULTS SITE IS OPTIONAL. We work on the honor system and know that you will hold yourself accountable. All rewards packets will be shipped at the end of the challenge to everyone that signs up for the rewards pack option.  We do NOT require proof to get your rewards. This Results site is not monitored and is for your convenieince only. If you use our log, you can record your distance daily, weekly, or as often as you see fit in individual workouts or simply enter weekly or other totals in one sum entry. THIS IS FLEXIBLE. However you want to keep track is totally up to you!
  • Go to  RunMotivators.com Results page. If it is your first time logging on our site, you must follow the instructions in the yellow box to get set up. A RESULTS ACCOUNT IS NOT CREATED FOR YOU WHEN YOU PAY FOR THE REGISTRATION.  YOU MUST CREATE A RESULTS ACCOUNT IF YOU WISH TO USE OUR ONLINE LOG. Be sure to register your account using the email you signed up with as that is how your event will be linked into your Results account. (If you paid with PayPal, it will be the email address connected to your PayPal account.) 
  • Once you have registered your Results account, you will be required to click on the link you are emailed to activate it. CHECK YOUR SPAM OR PROMOTIONS FOLDER FOR THE ACTIVATION EMAIL! It will most likely go there.
  • Once you have activated the account, you can log in. 
  • Once logged in, click on "CHALLENGE LOG"  and then "INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGE" from the menu. 
  • Select the appropriate event from the drop down menu. Please note that there will be a MILES and KM option.  Select whichever version you prefer. 
  • Enter the date of your workout and total distance.
  • You may enter the total time for each workout. This is optional. 
  • The site does not convert. If you wish to convert time spent on an activity to miles, you must do this manually using an online activity conversion chart.
  • You can edit each workout if you make a mistake with your entry. You can also delete entries by clicking the garbage can symbol next to the entry. Scroll to the far right of each entry line for this option.
If you prefer a convenient, non-technical way to keep track of your challenge completion, we have that, too! Each challenge has printable color-in trackers. They can always be found under the FILES tab at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/RunLikeAWoman/files/
Printable trackers can also be found on the Results site under the challenge log.
We find that the printable chart is very motivational, a great visual to see how far you've gone, and a great way to remind yourself to get out and get more miles in! 
Step 3: Check in Daily
Check in to the private Facebook group daily to chat with other participants, get motivation, share your success, concerns, and tips, and participate in the contests and mini-challenges.
Step 4: Participate in Group Activities and Contests
We hold one mini-challenge or contest each month for the duration of the challenge. A new mini-challenge or contest is typically posted at the beginning of each month and the winner for each one will be selected after the posted deadline.  The CURRENT challenge can always be found under the Announcements section at the top of the group discussion page.  You MUST follow all instructions and rules and comment on that post by the specified deadline to be entered into the prize drawing for that week. Late, incorrect, or incomplete submissions will not be considered.  Mini-challenge rules and themes change each month. Please check in often to stay up-to-date. 
Please note that contests and giveaways are only open to participants who live in areas where they are permitted by law.  Please check the laws of your jurisdiction to see if you are excluded from entering. No purchase is necessary to enter.  Winners are drawn randomly.  Winners are responsible for any taxes, government fees, or customs charges on the retail value of prizes won.  All prizes must be claimed within 30 days of drawing by emailing administrator@runmotivators.com with your name, address, and the week number of the mini-challenge you have won. Unclaimed prizes or prizes awarded to ineligible participants (ie where restricted by law) are forfeited.  Odds of winning vary each week and are based on the number of mini-challenge post comments ("Eligible entries").  Winners are posted to the group. A list of winners is available by emailing a written request to administrator@runmotivators.com.
Step 5: Complete the Challenge
It is recommended to complete the Challenge and log all miles by the specified Challenge end date. Because we are all-ability friendly, that is not an absolute requirement. If you are physically unable to log that many miles by that date, continue to work at your own pace as you are able. The challenge log  will remain open for approximately one year after the event launch date. 
Rewards packets will begin shipping AT THE END OF EACH CHALLENGE. It takes approximately 1-2 weeks to ship all packets.  As we are a very small family-owned company, we greatly appreciate your patience during the shipping process. We ship out packets as quickly as possible, but we want to be sure to go slow enough to maintain accuracy so that you receive everything you paid for. 
If you receive your rewards packet but have not completed the challenge, simply set it aside in a safe place until you are finished -- but please CHECK YOUR PACKAGE CONTENTS immediately upon receipt. Damage, missing items, or exchange claims must be made by email to administrator@runmotivators.com within 48 hours of receiving the package. After 48 hours, we cannot guarantee replacement. All sales are final and refunds will not be given after an item ships
If you finish before the challenge end date, we highly encourage you to keep up with a regular fitness routine and get as many miles in as possible during the challenge window.  We have the option of "add-on" medals and Charmedals (charms you earn) for going above and beyond the 100 miles during the challenge period. Once the challenge has ended, you may leave the private group page if you'd like, but this is not a requirement. You may stay in the group and participate in the mini-challenges even if you are not signed up for the next challenge. 
Step 6: Sign Up for the Next Challenge
Run Like a Woman Interactive Challenges are offered on a quarterly basis.  Dates are as follows: 
Winter Challenge: January 1 to March 31
Spring Challenge: April 1 to June 30
Summer Challenge: July 1 to September 30
Fall Challenge: October 1 to December 31

Missed out on a previous challenge? Rewards packs are available on a first-come, first-served basis under the PAST CHALLENGES heading at the link above. Although you will not be working on the same challenge as current participants, you may still hop in the group and participate in the interactive activities and motivation while you hammer out your miles for a previously-run event.
